Ohio to california!! Questions? -

Ok my step dad got a job in california so we r movin wit him and im in ohio. What can i expect that is completely diffrent ive never been 2 california ever!!

It will be a lot warmer and the attitudes and lifestyle are very different from Ohio. You asked What can I expect... In Pasadena, you can expect the unexpected!

California is very liberal. Our winters don t have snow (depends where you live.)The humidity is not wet like Ohio.Everything s A LOT MORE expensive here than in Ohio. You seriously need to be more specific as to where in California your stepfather is moving you guys to if you want me to assist you any further.

Most people are free spoken and open to a wide variety of beliefs and thought. Many are very independent, almost to a fault. California is very money and success driven as well. Expect some to be overly concerned about material possessions versus passion or love.Other than that, the weather is great and the beaches warm. LA has some terrible air conditions though. Visit San Diego as soon as you can.

Do you have a snow shovel? Ice scraper? Rock salt? Kiss it goodbye! If you ask any kid here what salt is for, they ll stare at you for a moment, then tell you it s for putting on french fries. Forget all the stereotypes you ve heard about California, most of them aren t true, except for the EXCELLENT weather. Get this: Do you know what the biggest story will be on the news tonight? Rain. Rain is SO rare here, it is the top story on the news every time it happens. Things here are a little further apart than you may be used to. There s a LOT more diversity here. Expect to see and deal with people who have different color skin and different background than you. You ll find out that Taco Bell is NOT real Mexican food. Best Mexican food in the world is here. Same with Burgers. There are several In N Out Burgers in Pasadena. Definitely try one.Hollywood is filled with weird people. You re only 15 miles from Hollywood, and you can even take the train and subway there. Enjoy the weather and don t worry about the rest. Have fun! (Oh, and don t forget to tell your friends. They will be SOOOOO jealous).Old Town Pasadena is really cool. It s especially fun around New Years, when they have the Rose Parade on New Years. You have to go see it once for yourself.

it depens what part of california? i assume LA since that is the section you put it under, so at that i can tell you it is probably a lot more diverse in every sense. people, things to do, weather. you really will find just about every type of person here you could imagine. weather is more mild than ohio i m sure and probably a lot more crouded. it s one of those things you have to see for yourself to get the grasp of it, then you will determine if you like it or not. personally i think the LA area is cool but i ve lived her my whole life and want a change

You will start dressing in layers no matter what the season. The weather changes drastically between morning and late afternoon. You also won t have to shovel snow for the most part anymore. It s a laid-back, sort of, but the political views are more conservative, at least around here. You will have the biggest variety of foods to choose from than you ve probably ever seen or heard of. The scenery is beautiful, even though the state is pretty bankrupt with high unemployment. All in all, I love it here. I won t be going back to the midwest EVER. You won t regret the move.

movie stars everywhere, fancy restaurants, corner gyms, major multiplex theaters abound everywhere.Huge shopping malls conveniently located throughout, exotic cars everywhere you look. Everybody accessorizes themselves with a blackberry or Iphone.. even kids on their skateboards use em Disregard the above if you re moving to Barstow you ll be lucky to find a decent convenient store open.

pasadena is really nice and upscaleits kind of outside of LA a bitdowntown pasadena is where most of the action is atpie and burger is down there you must try itpasadena is more inland, its not by the beach, probably a good hour drive to the beachits not gonna be like the hollywood movies or the hillsand you dont see movie stars everyday, but you do occasionallythere are mass amounts of traffic because driving is the best way to get aroundlos angeles is very spread out with many different areas, you will learn

Depends on where in CA. Different would be smog, ocean, warm weather, mountains, fruits, flakes and nuts, desert, tsunamis, earthquakes, mud slides, the list goes on. Enjoy!
