Where can you find a funny Chicago story that involves Chicago landmarks? -

Im looking for a funny Chicago storie that 6th graders would like to hear. I need it to involve Chicago landmarks as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curse_of_thCurse of the goat on Wrigley Field. Is this the reason they have never won a world series since then?

Many people are angered that the country s tallest building has been renamed. In fact, other buildings and most Chicago sports venues have been renamed. The Palmolive building was renamed the Playboy Building when Hugh Hefner made it his corporate headquarters. He has left and it is now again called the Palmolive Building. The Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field was called Weeghman s Park when it was built in 1914...the team was not the Cubs but the Whales of the shortly lived Federal League.U.S. Cellular One Field was the 2nd Comiskey Park until money did the talking.Rosemont Horizon was the place before Allstate Insurance bought the naming rights. The Bulls and Blackhawks played in 2 Chicago Stadiums but United Airlines bought the name we all know todayBridgeview Stadium was quickly renamed Toyota Park.Lesson....MONEY TALKS!Another interesting story about Chicago landmarks involves the Adler Planetarium. The original building is a octagon shaped structure in honor of the 8 planets. It has a huge brass sculpture of 8 planets in the lobby. The year it was dedicated Pluto was discovered, making the 8 sided design and ornaments immediately outdated...until 2006 when Pluto was declared not a planet. Alphonso Ianelli s design is again correct:http://www.adlerplanetarium.org/cyberspaI ve decided to take a stand. Regardless of the name, Sears or Willis Tower, something will never change that identifies the building...the address. From now on I m referring to it as 230 S Wacker.

20 Apr 2009 ... this editorial cartoon by Jacob Burck in the Chicago Sun-Times in 1953. ... the first formal public recognition of Chicago landmarks came in 1957. ... That cartoon is both funny and sadly insightful. .... My NPR story on the Calatrava Chicago Tower My NPR story on the Farnsworth House - for sale! ...
