I am wanting to plan a vacation to chicago this spring for my family..i know to stay during? -

the week is cheaper and thinking of going in april to help cost of hotel...i will have a 2 year old with me so i heard embassy suite downtown is good...i didnt know if anyone lives there or has been there to help me out....and i cannot believe these hotels charge so much for parking at there hotel...we are driving since it is only 5 hours away...does anyone know a way around this...i thought about parking at airport and taking a taxi or something since we wont be driving since we are staying downtown..i just cant bring myself to pay 45 a night to park my car....please help...thank you

My family and I (children ages 11, 7 18 months) are actually staying at the Embassy Suites Downtown this weekend...so I ll post back AFTER our visit as well.Anyway, the reason we ended up booking the room at the Embassy is because we decided to take advantage of their Cars Stay Free Package where we get free parking, valet and in out service in their heated garage.http://www.embassysuiteschicago.com/spec

Pros of the Embassy: Accommodate early arrival and let us keep our car in the garage with no extra charges, h orderve reception and continental breakfast. Cons: Rooms could be updated, NO free wireless and pool was very small (also supposed to be heated, but it was VERY cold). Have fun (we did!) Report Abuse

Hi. I am a Hotel Front Desk Agent for the Holiday Inn in Joliet, Il. I know the price of hotel rooms can be very pricey, especially in the Downtown area of Chicago. Have you thought about staying in the suburbs and taking the train into chicago? We have the Rock Island Line that runs from Joliet straight into the Downtown area and a much better alternative to paying for parking or dealing with traffic.

I live on the south side if you want to park your car in front of my house feel free.
