Subway is quicker. Just take the A,C or E. I recommend the C because it will leave you in 50th street and 8th ave. and you can walk from there to times square to where the ball drops. Make sure it goes Downtown, NOT Uptown.
Take the subway. From Jamaica Center or Jamaica Station, take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) E train (Blue Line on the subway map) and get off at 42nd Street Port Authority Bus Terminal. If you re near the Jamaica-179th Street subway station, take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) F train (Orange Line) and get of 42nd Street-Bryant Park.Either stations is within walking distance from Times Square.Good luckNative New Yorker
A couple of ways: Take the Q27 bus into Main Street. Then, take the subway ( Seven ) to 42nd and Times Square.Or, take the Q27 bus to Main Street. Switch to the Long Island Rail Road and take that into Penn Station. Then, take the subway ( One , Two or Three ) to 42nd. (Or just walk the 10 blocks from Penn Station.
