Where is the best place for 8 college students to vacation? (East Coast, US)? -

Hey everyone, Me and some of my friends have had a LONG year filled with death, and stress, and LIFE haha. So we decided we want to all take a nice, weeklong vacation to somewhere with a nice beach (We live in PA so the NJ beach is the nastiest thing known to man). Anyway, we do mildly drink, we are all 20, and we are not a family. We really wanted to go to the Outter Banks NC but they have a family rule that doesnt work for us. So i need a new place on the East Coast, that we can rent a HOUSE (Not hotel) and spend a relaxing weekend with a nice beach, golf, and some fun around the area. Any help?

Since there are 8 of you, it s definitely a good idea to rent a house/condo for your vacation. There are a lot of choices for rentals on the east coast. It s best to do your homework and use online research to find available places to stay that fit within your budget.Rather than give you a specific property name and location, I would suggest that you do some research on the available houses/condos, the prices and the locations. I have used justvr.com in the past and it was quite helpful for narrowing down my choices and booking a few nights stay.

How long does it take to get from Manhattan to Brooklyn via subway? -

I was wondering which subway do I take from 42nd and 7th ave (times square) to Bay Ridge...on Bay Ridge avenue? I want one that takes me all the way there I dont want to have to stop and wait for another subway where is it located? Thank you so much!

It should not take you more than an hour.Honestly, DO NOT take the R the entire way.The R runs local its entire route, plus it has more stops between lower manhattan and downtown Brooklyn.I suggest what you do is take the N from Times Square to 59th St. in Brooklyn. The N runs express in Manhattan and through most of Brooklyn. From Times Square to 59th st, there are only 6 stops.Once you get to 59th st, you can walk down only ten blocks to Bay Ridge Avenue (which is 69th st). Those blocks are really short.Or, if you don t want to walk, you can wait for the R for one stop.If you get off the N at 59th st. or the R at Bay Ridge Ave/69h, the stops are on 4th avenue.

You can take the R train all the way without changing trains. But if you take the N train from Times Square to 59th St Brooklyn, you will save about 15 minutes. At 59th Street, you can change for the R to Bay Ridge. It normally takes about 40 to 45 minutes if you take the N and R combination during the day. About 55 minutes to an Hour if you just take the R the whole way. When you get to the subway station in Times Square, just follow the signs to the R and N lines. is really simple!! just take the downtown N train to 59st brooklyn get off there and then wait for the 95th st-bound R train in the same place u get off the N the R TRAIN will pass ,take the R and get off at BAY RIDGE AVE is the next stop..the trip is 52min..if u don t wanna wait for another subway u can walk from 59st to bay ridge ave..

How can I become more Hawaiian? -

My grandfather is a Native Hawaiian. But I inherited the gene that rendered me white (brown hair, blue greenish eyes, pale white skin). And I live on the mainland. How do I appear like a Hawaiian, how do I have the attitude of a Hawaiian. How do I dress like a hawaiian.(i know grass skirts and coconut bras are just a stereotype). How do I speak like a native hawaiian. What can I do to help me become more adjusted to another culture of mine?

I understand that you want to embrace whatever amount (percentage) of Hawaiian that you have in you, but don t force it.Start off small. Listen to some island music (Bob Marley, Katchafire, Natural Vibrations). Even though those are reggae and not necessarily Hawaiian, it is what we locals listen to. In addition to those, I listen to local artists like John Cruz, Sean Na auo, and Ekolu.My Hawaiian (guy) friends wear shorts, t-shirt, and slippers (which are called flip flops on the mainland).

Do listen to Hawaiian radio online, both the hawaiian language music and that just by hawaiian artists (I love IZ) - read about things happening in Hawaii - read about the history and culture, learn what it all means!See if there is an online class you can take to learn the Hawaiian language. There are many immersion schools for children in HI to help them retain their language, I bet you can learn it online somewhere.See if you can get to know more of your extended family that is perhaps still in Hawaii, if you can t travel there maybe you can penpal or email with some of them and get the older ones to talk story - tell you about life in HI who they are and why they feel the way they do.Relax, learn and live aloha - best wishes!
