If you have the skills/background to get an appointment position with any government office in Hawaii, those will usually be fairly high-paying. Well, more high-paying than similar jobs in other companies. For example, I took an appointed position for a Mayor in Hawaii and was making about $15,000 more per year than if I took another job in that line of work for a private company. Or if you can get a job with the federal government that will also pay COLA, you will make a lot more money. COLA is the cost-of-living adjustment and last time I checked, COLA was 23% for Hawaii. That means that in addition to your salary, the federal government would give you another 23% of your salary, just because you are living/working in Hawaii.As far as non-government jobs go ... timeshare sales. My friend is in timeshare sales and she makes $150-$200K per year.
Anything that requires a Master s degree. Higher pay goes with higher education.The exception is sales. Top salespersons make more than all other occupations.
Same as most places - doctors, lawyers, dentists, architects, successful business people.
