Is It easier to get a job in Alaska ? -

Is It easier to get a job in Alaska ?

Yes it is. The unemployment rates are not accuratly reflected due to the large number of Alaska Natives residing in villages where employment oppertunities are sparse at best. I just came from Alaska and it is much easier to get a job there than it is to get a job in Washington. Try anything related to oil field work or transportation. Aviation related jobs are on decline as the airport ranking has dropped signifigantly in recent years but most other areas you can find jobs. You need to have a good work history and great references but you should have no troubles. Make sure not to head North unless you can afford it-- housing is not cheap and you MUST have a vehicle. Public transportation options in Anchorage are terrible. If you suffer from depression be proactive and get on pills or vitamins and start tanning now. It s not an easy place to live in teh winter and social oppertunities are virtually non exsistant. Regardless fo all the struggles, I love Alaska and it will always be my home. It s the most beautiful place in the world, and the people you meet are true characters. They have great stories if you take the time to listen.

I deal with people from Alaska in my business all the time. They all pretty much agree that even though there are still jobs up there, the economy is starting to catch up to Alaska. The oil companies are actually laying people off now.

I would think not because its always snowy there theres not many jobs that have alot of diversity of things to do =]

How long does it take to come from Austin, TX to Monroe, LA? -

Okay with my shipping they say that they really can t pinpoint on when my order will arrive. So how many hours, days, minutes etc. Will it take for my package to arrive. It s December 5th and it s 12 minutes away from being December 6th, lol. Just how long is it gonna take?!

Normal mail (like a letter) takes 2-3 days to get from Austin to Monroe. However, when something is being shipped at the standard rate (not expedited), you will need to add an additional 2 or 3 days for the order to be processed and packaged. So, if you ordered it on the 5th, then you will probably get it on 14th or 15th since the mail doesn t run on Sundays.I hope this helps.

Im packing up my life and driving away, where should I go? -

broken heart, packing up my stuff and going, just don t know where yet. any suggestions?anywhere in the U.S or Canada. Tell me a great place to be and why.thanks!

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and I think this a great place to live because it s a big city but its not a huge city or metropolis so any and all stores restaurants and any other services are immediately available to you. However about 900 000 people live here and it doesn t seem too many to find a nice neighborhood that s not too dangerous or dirty or noisy. People here are generally friendly, and aren t all caught up in what I like to call the fast life because there is many people living here that farm outside the city and they live a fairly simple life. Above all this is, if you are moving from the United States you can get free health care! Yay for government services! If there is one blight on this great city I live in is that it can get fairly cold here. Winter here is pretty much full on from early November to late February. Last year I had to walk to work in -35 degrees!

I don t know what your interests are. But I did the same thing last spring. I just wanted to be able to get up in the morning with my cup of coffee, look out my window and like what I see. Since I find peace in nature, I moved from Wisconsin to Spokane Washington. I get to look out my window and see the beautiful mountains every day and never tire of it. If I had my way, I would live in a small mountain town, but I have to be able to find work, so I live in Spokane and am in a nice close proximity to mountains instead.I am sorry that your heart is broken. They say that you cannot run away from your self and I guess that is true. But living back there I had constant reminders of my pain. At least here, the pain is manageable. And I can start my life fresh. Good luck and God bless.

Somewhere north, along the Great Lakes. Bring a pair of skates and go for a many-mile skate of serenity.

Where else. Come to the well of shattered dreams, Hollywood. Work it out of your system.
