It really depends on what part of the state you are going to. The state is very diverse with a lot of heavily populated urban areas on the west side of the cascades and more rural less populated area on the east side of the cascades.The urban west side is has a more diverse ethnic mix and is more liberal politically. The east side is less diverse and more conservative politically.I think you will find that the people on both sides are generally friendly, helpful and tolerant. Most people are open-minded with a live and let live attitude and for the most part mind their own business about other people s personal choices and life-style. Although people in some of the smaller communities, especially on the east side of the state are pretty conservative.About the only other thing that you need to be aware of is that people generally live here because they like outdoor activiries, appreciate the environment and natural beauty of the area and want to keep it that way.
In general, yes. Of course it depends on the area. If you re really looking to be accepted move to Seattle. There is no typical person or a certain type who lives in Seattle. Everyone s different and everyone loves and accepts each other. Drag Queens can walk down the street and no one will give them a second glance. It s really a fun and exciting place to live.
Usually. There is a lot of navy and military life here, especially around Puget Sound. We respect our military and I have never seen discrimination of any sort solely based on what state someone is from, UNLESS they re from California. Haha but Californians have that reputation just about everywhere, don t they?
Ive been to Seattle and Tacoma quite a few times from Denver and Ive always had a really good experience there and with the people. I think most people would say the same.Haven t been anywhere else but I do know Pullman sucks it. Go Dawgs
