What is the closest border enterance from mexico to texas near Houston? -

Well, I would ask you first where are you going in Mexico?I will say Laredo too, BUT BEWARE, last year s holiday crossing (From Laredo-Nuevo Laredo) was a nightmare, it took me 6 Hr and some people told me it took them 12 Hr to cross back.If you have a good smart Phone, I suggest you monitor Laredo Bridges cameras. If traveling through Monterrey you can either cross in McAllen or if coming from San Antonio on I35 you may try the Colombia Bridge . These 2 crossing are a longer drive, but it may take you less time in the long run. Also apply for your Car s Permit on the Internet, trying to get it at Laredo can add at least 3 more Hr to your trip.Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Nuevo Laredo, which is why there s so much La Migra activity during the holidays. It is the busiest, closest route to Houston. Brownsville is a close second. San Antonio also has Nuevo Laredo.

Normally Nuevo Laredo, but during the holiday, i recommend crossing at the Colombia bridge, just take the camino colombia toll road.

Why Hawaii and Alaska????????? -

Why did Alaska and Hawaii become states and not the other territories we gained during that time such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippians?

A majority of the citizens wanted statehood.

With an estimated population of 92 million, the Phillipines would be the largest US state. Something the other states wouldn t have been too keen with. Not to mention that it wasn t as wealthy as the other states.Guam only has 178,000 people less than half of Wyoming, the least populated state. So not really big enough to be a state. Same goes for USVI with only 104,000 people and Northern Mariana Islands with only 86,000.Puerto Rico is an odd case. If it became a state, it would have to swith from Spanish to English as Texas did when it became a state. Puerto Rico taxes are different from the states since it s a commonwealth. And the Puerto Rican government really doesn t want to give that up.
