How far is Wall Street from the Upper East Side of Manhattan? -

im not from new york but i wanna know..is it a long way?

Wall street is downtown. Below trinity almost to the Battery. It runs from Broadway to Pearl and water street from east to west. It is a one way street until water street (at 111 Wall Citibank).Upper east side is 70 blocks north and will cost you about $25 in cab fare unless he rips you off and goes through the holland tunnel via jersey back through the Lincoln tunnel! They sometimes do this to avoid traffic jams in Manhattan.You won t want to walk it unless you have a good hour and a half. But you could take the $1.50 PATH train from the Trade Center station to 34th street and hop a bus or a subway.

Wall Street is at the bottom tip of Manhattan. Check it out on a map of NYC. The upper east side could mean anything from the East 60s on up. When I ve been in NY, I have often walked the entire distance. Every 20 city blocks in New York equal about a mile. It s not really that far. It could take an hour or so to do that walk, but walking goes quickly in NY; there s so much to see.

Its about a 20 minute subway ride from East 86th Street to Wall Street. Just take the #4 or 5 subway lines (Green Lines on the subway map) going southbound.Good luckNative New Yorker

it s not walkable but i d say its a $20 cab ride or 30-40 minute train ride depending on if you get express. also if you have to go across town i d add on another 5-10 mins. =] Happy travels.

There are many shops to by sports Items. Try the ESPN zone, NBA store. There is a LIDS in Times Square.

Sorry, my friend, there is no MLB store in NYC. However, if you you re looking for either Yankees or Mets merchandise, I would recommend the Yankee Clubhouse and Mets Clubhouse shop. There are several of each in Manhattan.Good luckNative New Yorker

I want to Move to L.A? -

To become a pro Wrestler. I heard L.A has lot of Wrestling tradition and schools. I m looking to move to L.A either after High school or College possibly. I m looking for a one bedroom sing studio apartment, are there any cheap Apt? close to the beach,etc.

The nice folks in the immigration forum can help you with that.Next, you need a plan: First item on the agenda is rent. A decent 1BR apartment in LA currently goes for $1200, give or take. A studio is about $1000.Nicer areas and areas closer to the beach are much higher. Don t expect to move to Santa Monica and get an apartment on the beach for that much. Or Toluca Lake, or Beverly Hills. Next, you will need a car. Los Angeles is VERY spread out, and train service is extremely limited. If you don t have a car, you will have to take a bus, which takes 3 times longer to get anywhere than a car. All told, it generally takes about $3,000 per month to live here. If you don t have a job that pays that much or skills that can get you that kind of job, stay where you are. If you are unskilled and work for minimum wage (or for tips like bartending or waiting tables), you ll only make about $1200 per month. And speaking of jobs, they are rather hard to come by now. College grads seeking employment are having a very tough time of it right now, since the job market is flooded with experienced people who were laid off. Unemployment is over 12% right now. Not exactly the kind of job market you want to move into.Finally, you will need money. Landlords want first month s rent and a security deposit up front. You ll need money for food, transportation, utilities, etc. The consensus in this forum is that you need about $7500 to start out.So there s your plan. Did you ever consider the fact that LA is not the cheapest place in the world?Coastal California is the MOST COVETED area which means MORE $$$.Affordability does not exist in Los Angeles. Starting prices begin at around $1000+/mo. and that s usually for a studio in a somewhat decent area.Jobs are also nonexistent at the moment. Unemployment rates have jumped to 13% so good luck finding a job. Even if you find a job, that job will barely pay the rent (or not even come close to paying the rent.)Keep in mind you do NEED to buy groceries, hygiene products, clothes, emergency money, gas, electric, water, insurance, car, etc.Speaking of cars, you NEED a car in order to live in Los Angeles. The insurance for the car is not going to be cheap since the rate in Los Angeles are high and the gas prices are going to make you want to move back to your hometown.Bottom Line: You sound unprepared so my best suggestion for you is don t even bother moving to California because we already have a crisis going on and people like you are just contributing to the problem.

you and the rest of the world want to move to Los angeles .... ok here is the poop... the majority of natives want to leave and go elsewhere. ask yourself why, and you will understand the reason for not wanting to move here.if you want to move to Los angeles you better get in the habit of saying Los Angeles ... yeahhhh no i wanted to move there before and i looked at cheap apartments and the cheapest one was around 800 or more for a studio. and that was in the ghetto. good luck finding one by the beach. i d find some roomates if u want a nice place there
