Is it safe taking I-94 from Chicago to Seattle in the middle of January? -

I will be moving from Chicago to Seattle in January. My company wants me out there as soon as possible. I was just wondering how safe it is to drive a 2008 Hyaundai Tiburon through the Rocky Mountains in the middle of January. Are there frequent Avalanches? What will the road conditions be like? How often are there blizzards? Will my car be able to handle the trip? Thank you for your help!

Good news is: the route you have selected; North to Minnesota, across North Dakota and Montana to Washington State means you will have a minimum number of mountain passes to cross.The bad news is: you will have worry about blizzards, blowing winds, blowing snow and closed highways. Every winter my brother I used to drive from Chicago to Butte Montana on I-90/I-94 to ski. Out of the 6 years we went, we got stopped by blizzards twice; and this was in a 4 wheel drive truck. Both times, the highway patrol closed the interstate in North Dakota.Yes, you can make the trip in your Hyundai. You will have to buy chains. (it s good insurance) The roads can be dry and clear, and they also can be full of snow, just depends. Watch the national weather forecasts, be prepared, and understand that if the highways closes, you could spend a couple of days waiting until it reopens. Don t push your luck/drive all night, out in the middle of North Dakota, if you drive off the road in the middle of the night it could be hours before someone finds you. HOLA!I am a caramel skinned girl who is 15 turning 16.I m a very outgoing girl. I play tons of sports and i can t say i m EXTREMELY popular but i know mostly everyone grade 10 and up. I am confident, i can crack some jokes in the class and I am not skinny but i weigh around 130 and i m 5 8. I have no stomach it s just everywhere. Anyways, I m worried because it took me years to gain that confidence and hang around many people and now i have to start all over again and go back to my dark old days. My parents say just be who u r now, there. you will be fine!! im from Canada too and i love it down here the weather is awesome!!!! there are sooooo many people form all over that live here in Atlanta... when i talk to people and they ask me where im from i tell them and they always say wow canada is sooo beautiful! Very rarely i talk to someone who says ya i was born and raised here... i know people from CA, LA, NY, TX, NC, SC, FL MEXICO... CANADA... and theres all diff. races black, white, chinese, native american, indian, brazilian, exc.... you ll fit right in...

My daughter -- a junior in high school -- is friendly with a couple of girls who recently moved here -- and they seem to be adjusting nicely.Basically: be outgoing, friendly and receptive to new friends. Dont be boastful -- I don t think anyone really cares if your stomach is flat or not -- and don t compare life in your new school to the way things were at home in Canada. If you re athletic, join a team. Volunteer. I think you ll acclimate nicely.

i live 30 minutes away from atlanta and i can tell you its okay if you want to meet new people i suggest you join a sport your really good at!

I mean Atl is a cool place, most people are friendly, but the language/dialect is a little confusing because of the people s southern roots. But lastly mostly everyone here in Atlanta are foreign they were not born in Atlanta....the people here are from all walks of life

The only people that use that term are people from other states, Californians like you that weren t born yet when that word began, and West of Encino .
