Winter storm is coming on Wed. night to Minnesota. I need to travel 3 hours south with 2 kids? -

I would like to just cancel our trip to grandma s house. But she will be very disappointed. I also dont want to travel with a snow storm coming. What would you do?

Im not convinced we will even have a storm. A few weeks ago we were supposed to have a HUGE storm and we got like 3 inches lol. Leave earlier if you can, the people on the news just said to leave tomorow morning if possible. Otherwise just take it slow. Dont cancel, because what if you DO cancel and it DOESNT snow??

I don t know the route you re traveling, but I can give you some unique roadside attractions in the states you ll be travelling. In Pittsburgh, PA, there s a Lumpy Mr. Roger s Statue. It is located at N. Shore Dr., I-279, exit A (North Shore). Look for the Heinz Field Stadium and the statue is located between it and the river. I was in Pittsburgh in May and found out about this statue, so I thought I d get a look at it for myself.Pittsburgh also has a 20 Ft Tall Transformer Robot on Fort Duquense Blvd. Take I-279, exit 6C onto Ft. Duquense Blvd. Drive three blocks and you ll see it on the right, just past the third stoplight. I saw this one, too, when I was going to the Duquense Incline and taking the Ducks Tour.Also in PA, there are giant Amish Statues in Lancaster. In Indiana, there s a giant tennis shoe in Newcastle. It s off of I-70 by the All American Inn.Also in Indiana, there s the Giant Santa Claus Statue in Santa Claus. It s not on a main interstate, but intersting to see. It s on Hwy 245.Mentone, IN, has the world s largest egg. Mentone is located in Northcentral IN. It s located on Main St, so you ll have to get off the highway to see it.Ohio: Cleveland has the World s Largest Stamp. It s located two blocks from the Rock and Roll Halll of Fame. I saw this one when I visited Cleveland. New York: there s the Big Duck in Flanders, NY. Take I-495/Long Island Expwy, Exit 71. Turn right on Edwards Ave, at traffic circle take third exit onto Flanders Rd, go about 2 1/2 miles and duck will be on the left.Check out this website for more odd attractions in each state:http://www.roadsideamerica.com

If you re doing it in 16 hours there isn t really much to see en route.Suggestion:Top off your tank in Stroudsburg PA so that you can do the run across I-80 PA w/o looking for a gas stationThen gas and food in Youngstown before get on the OH TPKGas in IN after you get off of the Indiana Toll Road b/c gas in IN is always cheaper than it is in IL

Confused about the location of Penn Station-NYC (railroad station)!! Please help me? -

I arrive at Penn Station-NYC and I ve never been to NYC so I don t know anything about the transport there. I looked up the address for the station my ticket says I arrive at, to see whereabouts it is located and it came up as the same exact address as Grand Central Station. It was 438 8th Avenue. Is that correct or is that an error on Google maps s part?? Also, what part of NYC is it located in (Manhattan?)?? And also what exactly is there at Penn Station to do? I have a long layover so I wanted to kind of explore Penn Station and near it while I wait on my next train. Are there any shops other than just gift shops and are there any actual restaurants (not the crappy cafetera some stations have)?? I d seriously appreciate any information anyone has about Penn Station NYC. Thanks soooo much!!!

My friend, Penn Station is located on 7th Avenue between 31st and 34th Street. The station is three blocks long and entirely underground. Penn Station is served by Amtrak, NJ Transit and the Long Island Railroad. The latter two (NJ Transit and LIRR) are commuter lines.Grand Central, on the other hand is located on East 42nd Street, on the east side of Manhattan. The train station is a commuter hub as it is the terminus for Metro-North Commuter Rail. Amtrak, on ocation will use Grand Central, however this is rear.Both Penn Station and Grand Central are served by the New York City Subway System.I hope this information is very helpful.Good luck

Grand Central is nowhere near 8th Avenue.Penn Station reaches from 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue and is between 30th and 34th Streets. It is underground; look for Madison Square Garden, which is easy to see (above ground) and in the same area.Grand Central is between Vanderbelt and Lexington, just north of 42nd. Officially, it is at the intersection of 42nd and Park, but you cannot enter from Park, because that section of Park is elevated and runs on the roof of Grand Central, not along side it.

438 8th Ave is def. Penn Station. There is much to do at the surface there. There is Kmart attached to the station (entrance from station on lower level). By the 7th and 32nd street exit is a Borders, and Macy s Herald Square is just up the street. So it depends upon how long of a layover you have

Penn Station is located between 7th and 8th Avenues between 31st and 33rd Streets. Grand Central Terminal is located at Park Avenue and 42nd Street. It s right under MSG, so you ll have plenty to do and eat.

Penn Station and Grand Central Station are distinctly different facilities in very different parts of the city.The address you found for Penn Station is correct.There are shops in Penn Station. Some are the typical tacky giftshop/newstand type place, but there are some other shops as well. Amtrak also has a waiting room although it s not the most comfortable place to spend time. There are a number of fast food places, and one full-service restaurant (Houlihan s). Penn Station is a fairly big place, and you can get lost if you wander away from the main terminal space (which is where the shops are). Penn Station is totally underground, and is directly beneath Madison Square Garden. If you have enough time, you can always leave the station and walk around - it s a fairly nice part of the city, and there are shops nearby. However, you don t want to take the risk of missing your connecting train, so make sure that you find your way back to Penn Station well before the scheduled departure time. Trains (and their platforms) are announced just before the scheduled departure time, so you want to be in the Amtrak waiting area when that announcement is made so that you can follow the herd to your platform.
