Hotels in downtown Chicago? -

I m looking for a nice, but not to expensive hotel in Chicago. Any ideas?

What is not too expensive for you, and when do you want to be there? Rates right now are pretty good in the city. I just checked hotels.com for one night 12/18-19 and some very nice hotels are in the $100 range. Most of these rates are prepaid and non-refundable.W Lakeshore - a bit too trendy and loud for my tastes, but $119/nt.Doubletree Mag Mile - nice modern hotel, great location, $109/nt.Hilton Suites Mag Mile - All rooms are suites, very nice property. $114/ntMarriott Downtown Mag Mile - I ve heard it s nice, $129There are many more on the Magnificent Mile, just enter Magnificent Mile Chicago in the search bar at hotels.com.For my money, though, I d go with the Sofitel at $165/nt. This is a true luxury 5 star hotel and is the only such 5-star Sofitel in the country. I ve also stayed at the very nice 4-star NYC Sofitel and the Chicago property is MUCH nicer and significantly more affordable.Edited to add that you should also do a web search for hotel discounts. Earlier this year, for instance, United Airlines had a promo code for 20% off any Marriott which I took advantage of. There are many such codes out there that anyone can use. Also, if you re into collecting hotel points, there may be some additional promos which will give you bonuses.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

6th and stanford in Los Angeles CA? -

so i took a walk today and i ended up at 6th an stanford ave. Anyone have any idea what neighborhood that is?

Good Evening Mr. Morbid Corpse,You damn near got lucky today??You were right near the best seafood place in Los Angeles. Do not go there on a friday. The line will be to long. I have been going there for over 35 years. The line will be full of police officers, county, and city workers getting their lunch. It closes at 4 pm. Most people in Los Angeles will not go near skid roll, therefore they would not know about the place. I have been feeding the homeless on 6th and Crocker St. for years.Bad part. I have been going there so long, I do not know the address. Don t worry, I will get you there. It is called the FISH MARKET. It is located on Central Ave across the street from Youngs Market, Inc. I did find the address for Youngs Markets, Inc. @ 500 S. Central.Me and my wife take all of our out of town relatives there. When you get to the window, I recommend you order a #1,2, or 3 for your first time. They have a seafood boiler. They also have the best seafood salads in Los Angeles. It is outside seating. No table serve. Take my word for it, You will love it. I do not live on skid roll. No homeless person will be eating beside you.I like to see a person who really wants to learn what Los Angeles is really about. I wish you were older (smile), I would point out some great Jazz hole in the walls. You have a great day. I am heading for Las Vegas for Thankgiving. My wife just finished baking fourteen (14) sweet potato pies. Time for me to taste one. Enjoy the fish, from Los Angeles

That s around Skid Row, the Flower District, the Arts District, and the Wholesale District. Borders are pretty fuzzy down there.

That s in or right near Skid Row. Did you buy some crack or heroin on your walk by any chance?
