What do you think about Chicagos Sears Tower being renamed the Willis Tower? -

Money talks. Many Chicago landmarks don t have the names they were originally given because of money:Weeghman Field...Wrigley FieldComiskey Park II...US Celular FieldChicago Stadium...United CenterMarshall Field...Macy sRoemont Horizon...Allstate ArenaBridgeport Arena...Toyota ParkPalmolive Building....Playboy Building...back to Palmolive BuildingCarson, Pirie, Scott...?Others have had there names changed too:Fine Arts Building...Museum of Science and IndustryOrchard Field...O Hare FieldNorthwestern Station...Ogilvie Transportation CenterWomen s Building...Art InstituteIllinois Building...Thompson CenterThe tower is such a huge building. It has something that won t change that I use to identify it...its address. I have resolved to say 230 South Wacker when referring to it.By the way, it wasn t the original Sears Tower. That tower stiil stands at Homan Arthington:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co

I don t think that it is as big of a deal as some people are making it out to be. It is kind of fun to call it Big Willy now (it kind of goes along with the other tall landmark building in town, the Cock). Anyway, even though I have lived in the area my entire life, I had never been to the Skydeck until this last summer. It is definitely worth a look if you haven t been. The new ledges give a unique perspective on the city. If you go with a friend, have the friend stand in one ledge and take his/her picture from the next ledge.

I don t care for the name Willis at all. I think it s very bland and wimpy sounding. The Sears Tower sounds more powerful and interesting. I live in Chicagoland and still can t get used to calling it the Willis Tower. It will always be the Sears Tower to me.

i think it is stupid, I have called it the Sears Tower my whole life and that has not changed. Just like Sox park is still called Comisky Park by me

Don t think is should be changed, however all the airports around me have changed their names, so it wouldn t be a disaster.

Can t be as bad the name of the stadium where the Miami Dolphins play football.Landshark Stadium. How pathetic.

It really doesn t bother me. It s all a money and power thing. I will continue to call these places whatever I first heard their names to be. I ve got more important things to be concerned with.

I do not think about it since the name changed in July.

How long do you have to live in west virginia to become a resident? -

If you live - rent or own a place- in WV then you are a resident of that state. Now if this is for college- each college has its own requirements about being an in-state resident. Most colleges require you to live in the state for a year

Almost all the states have a one year requirement. The exceptions are Arkansas at six months and Tennessee at zero months. If you asking this for school purposes here s some more information for you.http://www.finaid.org/otheraid/stateresihttp://southernwv.edu/admission/residenc

whenever you move there.

Can you still smoke anywhere in Vegas or have they buckled down? -

All floor spaces inside ALL large casino (generally those casinos exceeding 15 slot machines), strip clubs and standalone bars not serving food are exempt from the law and smoking is permitted. Restaurants inside casinos are non-smoking. Nightclubs and lounges are not required to ban smoking as long as they do not serve food. For all other stand alone restaurants, bars, convenience stores, grocery stores and airport facilities smoking is banned (by penalty of a $100-$600 ticket if caught) in all establishments which sell food other than prepackaged snacks.

The law says you cannot smoke in any business except in a gambling area. So at a hotel casino you cannot smoke anywhere but where there are slots or tables. Bars in the areas who have a minimum amount of slots can have smoking. IF someone smokes ina public area there is a fine but not well regulated because businesses do not want to be smoking police. People can still smoke in their car, home. The initial intiative was to protect the health of minors but by law minors should not be in bars or casinos

I just flew home from Las Vegas yesterday! I went to Mandalay Bay and The Hilton and I was able to smoke in the casinos. I believe it is aloud in most casinos because they don t want people who are gambling to have to get up, stop gambling and take a smoke break.

A couple of the minor casinos are now smoke-less, and a few of the card rooms (like at the Flamingo) are now smokeless, but for the most part the machine and table game areas allow smoking...The rules change all the time so just check it out when you get there....One of the new non- casino hotels at City Center doesn t allow smoking ANY PLACE...EVEN IN ROOMS..

I think they ve been thinking about keeping the no smoking policy at the dynamite factory. So,, I don t think it s everywhere.

You can t smoke in a lot of restaurants but there are still a few where you can smoke. You can smoke in the casino s or walking on the strip. They tried to pretty much cut it out everywhere but HEY...this is Vegas.

D.A. has given you a very comprehensive answer. All I would add is that smoking is only allowed in hotel rooms that are designated as such. *

Your fine to smoke in the casino area but no in restaurants and areas that serve food as what DA said.

you cam smoke in the casinos, elsewhere it is not allowed.

smoking is not good for you AT ALL!!!!!!
