There is not a law in Utah the requires you to have snow chains. In fact they keep the roads plowed and salted, so unless you are driving in the middle of a blizzard you don t need to worry about it. Sometimes after a big storm they do require chains or 4 wheel drive to get to some of the ski resorts. It is very easy to avoid driving in the snow. Watch the weather and stay home if there is a storm.Idaho doesn t put salt on the roads, they use sand, so I would wait a few extra days after a storm to drive though Idaho. Give the roads a little more time to dry.

There are a number of great areas, but my personal favorite is Ocracoke Island. Accessible from Cape Hatteras by ferry or from the mainland at Swans Quarter. The thing I like about Ocracoke is that about 95% of the beaches are part of the national park and therefore not commercially developed and relatively pristine. This is a tough question for someone like me. I like the whole area.For family vacations we like to stay in Duck. It s nice and quite without over crowded beaches.But the busier Nags Head and Kitty Hawk area is a short drive if you are looking for things to do.If I go for strictly a fishing trip then I prefer staying in Buxton, because of the great fishing at the Hatteras Point.You may want to check out this web site.
