Moving to Los Angeles from Dublin Ireland? -

in summer 2011 me and my family of are planning on moving to los angeles, ca. my mom is a professional singer and book author and my dad is a carpenter and drummer. we have 3 properties [2 houses and an apartment] that we could potentially sell. 2 of the houses are high quality. I am 15, my little sister is 7 and my little brother is 3 but we will be 17, 9 and 5 years old when we move. We live in Dublin, Ireland. We would like to move to a nice place around the los angeles [good] area. In the long run, we are not looking for a rent, but a house and will basically have a fair amount of money.What are the steps we have to take to move?Saleeya Dunphy

They are all right, you will first have to find someone to sponsor you for a work Visa, and it has to be a well paying job. And no, it won t really take 2 years for a Visa, i know plenty of Europeans , where it didn t even take a year. Countries like Ireland, German and Italy, will have a much faster visa process, than for example, Iran, South Africa, Korea, and so on. Don t ask me why, it s just the way it is.don t come to LA to become a singer or an author, chances are very low.don t come here unless your parents have a degree in something like Business, Economics, and find a company to work for in the US. Other than that, stay in Ireland, sorry, but it will be hard as a carpenter to come to the US, just like that.

I assume you know how to read, you CANNOT immigrate without a VISA.Visa s are NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to OBTAIN.unless you have an ADVANCED DEGREE in things such as MEDICAL OR ENGINEERING.Basically, you CANNOT MOVE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED.Build a bridge and get over it.

Why is it that so many people from European countries DON T understand that in order to immigrate to the United States they MUST apply for permission to immigrate from the U.S Department of State. Call the nearest U.S. Embassy and ask them if you don t believe me.Your parents could NOT legally work in the U.S. without a work visa. To obtain one an American company MUST sponsor them, and at the present about the ONLY careers that qualify is in Advanced Medicine, and Engineering. We DO NOT need any singers/writers, and definitely don t need any carpenters. Even if your family managed to find a way to make this move, the processing would take more than two years to complete.

I hope your family knows that you all need visas and all that paperwork to come to the US. That step will take longer than 2 years.Plus, your parents need to be sponsored for a job. The way the economy is going you guys might as well look elsewhere for your move. This is because to be able to come to the US to live and work you would need a skill that is in high demand here to be able to get a work permit.I saw that you posted this question a few hours ago. i ve lived in the same apt for almost 26yrs. i m leaving in 2010 and i don t know where exactly to go. I ll be 26 and i m currently looking for a new job outside of NY. I only want to be 2-3hrs from home since my father is ill and i don t want to be too far. Any suggestions as to a where an New Yorker, born and raised, would best fit in? and what s the best approach to relocating? thanks!
