Is Greyhound Bus travel dangerous? -

I am an adult woman. I have to travel from Colorado to Missouri for a funeral. Plane tickets are way out of reach for me even the beravement fare is outragious. I can only afford a Greyhound bus ticket. Should I be nervous? Do they keep their passengers safe or is it every man (or woman) for himself?

It s true that some of the people who get on the bus there are kind of iffy but that s all by relative standard. I don t think the risk is any different or greater compared to airline passengers. You actually may have a good time on the bus, sometimes you get to hear incredible life stories on the bus, especially if you ride a long route like Chicago to New Orleans, Los Angeles to Chicago, etc. But your route doesn t sound even that long. I wouldn t worry about it.

You will have nothing to worry about, Greyhound buses are completely safe, I have traveled them numerous times. The only potential problem that you might have while riding on a Greyhound bus is that you are sitting next to someone a bit, well, wierd or strange or someone that makes you uncomfortable. But dont let that bother you, in the night the Greyhound bus driver turns of the light, if you are travelling at night. So heres my advice to you, anytime of day you take the bus, come early to the bus stop where you need to take you bus, and sit in the front, the closer you are to the bus driver the safer you will feel, and its nice too, i sit all the way in the front, I can see out in front of me and through the window, its nice. Follow these steps, and you will be totally fine, there is nothing to worry about.Actually if you are travelling alone, going by Greyhound is honestly much better than driving alone, especially on long trips. i have ridden greyhound buses on numerous occasions. they are definitely cheaper. as far as safety, i guess it just depends on who is on the bus with you. keep your belongings close and stay to yourself. also, if you can, get a seat close to the bus driver. the rift raft will usually head to the back of the bus. I m very sorry for your loss and hope you have a safe trip.

You will be fine. Just be alert and keep your valuables with you at all times. Do not hang around a bus station as they are usually in a less desirable part of town.

Where is a safe, affordable place to live in San Francisco? -

I m moving to San Francisco in January, and I m looking for a safe and affordable neighborhood to live in. I ll be working near the corner of Van Ness Ave. and O Farrell St., and I need to keep morning travel time in mind when i select a place to live.Does anyone have any suggestions for areas to look for apartments? I ve heard Daly City is nice and safe, but since I m not familiar with the City s traffic (I d like to drive to work or possible) or public transit system, I don t know if this is the right choice.

I don t think San Francisco is very familiar with the term affordable, but the best place to find a big amount of listings all at once is to surf around craigslist. You can scope everything out by neighborhood. Beware the tenderloin!!

Daly City is nice, but it s pretty far away from your workplace. The Richmond and Sunset districts are nice, too. They re a little more chill and there is less burglary. There is a very low violent crime rate, but the petty crime rate is quite high (pretty much anywhere in San Francisco). The Inner Richmond area is only like a 15 minute bus ride or an 8 minute drive (it s about 2.5 miles) from where you are going to be working so that would probably work out. Some places are a lot nicer than others and I think Richmond is a pretty relaxed, low-crime, affordable place.

What means affordable ? the richmond, sunset area is kind of affordable for $600 to $700 per shared room and easy commute.Some area in Daly city is not safe, and you must buy two transit passes to get SF, bus ride time is 1hr 30min to your work place.All those 3 places are majority Asian( 80% to 95%)

The city is too expensive for you. You should try Daly City and share a place with someone. DAly City is only 10 minutes from the city.If you still prefer the city, there are illegals inlaws studio - which is terrible (condition) to live in.

you may be better off geting a roomate and living in the eastbay.7 or 8 hundred dollars a month is about half the rate for a nice 2 bedroom place in Oakland or Hayward.

You re joking, right ? A tiny studio will cost you $1,200 a month. You can rent a room in that price range.This isn t Mississippi, things are high here. Big mistake,pal.And traffic is a nightmare in the City.

I would check out craigslist for room shares you may..find something a room in an apartment or house. (sharing the apartment/house)
