Where do you buy Christmas trees on Oahu, Hawaii (2009)? -

I know this is late but my grandma wants me to see where or if they are still selling Christmas trees.haha. man, these christmas trees are quite expensive. compared to when i lived in oregon. but thank you if you answered.

According to the TV news, this is one of those years when the demand outstripped the supply. This happens every 4 or 5 years. Most places ran out last weekend. (I got mine on Thursday - whew!). Richard Tajiri, the guy at Ala Moana that the other poster mentioned, air shipped in another 700 today, but they sold out quickly.

It s not late. What side of the island are you on? Did you try a hardware store like City Mill?Yes, trees are expensive in Hawaii. When I moved to Oregon a long time ago, the National Forest sectioned off an area where you could go and cut FREE trees. I bet they don t have that any more, though.

The news just finished and It said fresh new Christmas Trees just flew in from the mainland and people was in line from 6am this morning and Its all gone. But who knows there could be more around the island.

At 3pm today trees were being sold in the parking lot of Sears at Ala Moana, for under $100 or something like that.Home Depot sells trees, at least the one in town does.City Mill may still have.

we got ours at kmart....but that was thanksgiving day lol sry

Restaurant by airport in New Orleans for New Years Eve? -

We are spending Dec 12 - Jan 1 in New Orleans this year. It is our second trip during this time frame. Our flight leaves on the 1st and we thought we would stay out by the airport our last night. Can you recommend a good place to eat within easy cab ride of the Hilton airport? Or, should we just plan on eating at the hotel? There is NO bad food in New Orleans we have discovered - even hotels and gas stations! :-)

I can t think of any appropriate restaurants really close to the airport. Perhaps one of the other regulars on the New Orleans section knows of some, but I think it s all chain restaurants close to the airport. However, Drago s is in Metairie and is much closer to the airport than downtown:http://www.dragosrestaurant.com/Another choice would be Andrea s, which is also in Metairie:http://www.andreasrestaurant.com/Reservations are important.Bon Appetit!
