Unit headquarters and the stable for Troop B are at the newest facility located at Pier 76, roughly at 36th street on the West Side of Manhattan. The city s press release announcing the opening of that facility in 2007 is here:http://nyc.gov/portal/site/nycgov/menuitOther Mounted Unit troops are stationed at Pelham Bay Park, Fresh Meadows, Coney Island, and at the 1st Precinct in Lower Manhattan.

Where do they keep the horses in NYC that the cops ride around on? -
Where do they keep the horses in NYC that the cops ride around on? Do they haul them in and out of the city every morning and every night from like NJ or somewhere? When do they eat and where? Are there stalls for them at the police station or something? This is a serious question, I really am curious. : )
Can you use a credit card to pay for cab fare? -
This might be a stupid question. I ve never ridden in a cab before, and I was wondering it they took credit cards. I don t carry a lot of cash on me and I know a lot of people who are the same. I d like to know in case I get stranded somewhere and have to call a cab.
It depends, in some big cities like New York, Las Vegas yes, in most smaller cities no.
Always carry enough cash with you for a cab ride if you think you might need to get a ride. Most cabs do not accept credit cards, though the some in big cities with lots of tourists do.
